Mine is bad. Does anyone know where this is located on a Sea Ray 290 SLX?

I'm not sure where the tank access is in your model. You're looking for a round plate on top of the tank that is screwed into top of tank with ground and sender wire attached to it. Replacement depends on sender type and tank depth, so if you aren't replacing with the same make and model, you'll need to remove the screws to remove the old sender and measure the tank. Make sure you're getting a sender that works with the dash gauge, same ohm range, etc.

Locate the fuel tank, (usually near filler cap) get an idea where it is situated, and somewhere near the top- you might have to remove a cushion or inside a storage cubby there will be an access plate you have to remove get access to the top of the fuel tank.

On the 280 the tank is mounted in the bottom Vee half in the engine bay and half under the mid berth. My guess on the 290 it is in the same general position, i.e. lowest point on the boat, roughly in the center both fore/aft and port/starboard to mitigate effect as volume changes.
