This spring while waiting out covid19 I plan on installing a drain plug light and a port side arch mounted 12v Tv on my 2005 Sea Ray 340 Sundancer. I need advise on the how to supply power to these units.
1) where is the best place to connect the TV 12v power wire so power is supplied while on battery (both port and starboard batteries) and when on shore power?
2) where is the best place to connect the drain plug light 12v power wire so power is supplied while on battery (both port and starboard batteries) and when on shore power? (I plan on using the light remote to control on/off and other functions and not to connect to the EIM.

Thanks in advance

Nothing like add more 12 power underwater
Smartest thing to do is use the house side for 12v items, All 12v accessories work on 12v no matter if your on shore power. On shore power the battery charger takes over if its turned on

I would run both to your fuse box near the helm (assuming there’s one there). Also careful with drain plug lights. I had one that got caught with a lobster trap line and almost ripped it off and sunk the boat. I have moved to through haul lights.

Hey @Rickross - I did something similar last year. Here is a link including the sub panel I installed:

A link about pulling the wiring:

And here is a link about how I converted a Samsung TV to run directly off 12V:

Here is the write up I did of the main Salon TV conversion to 12V:

Hope that helps!

There is a lot to digest.
Thanks so much for the replies.
