Hi- I damaged my swim platform ... a sizable 6 inch smash mark ... is it repairable ... what other damage could have occurred ?

Thanks

Dan

Backed into a cement pylon

You need to pull the boat and check all mounting points. That includes the inside of the vessel as well.

Thank-you for your reply!

Thank/you.. would the boat be showing any leaks if the mounting fixtures were damaged?

That's not even broken in. :)

A fiberglass guy could fix that in a few hours. You could probably make it passible as a DIY. Good luck.

DIY...Do It Yourself......Unless you have the skills I don't recommend it. It appears to be cosmetic with no breach of the hull. Take it to a reputable marine fiberglass repair shop to have it repaired properly.

Had some minor scuffs and gel coat problems on my swim platform from previous owner. Deff a Diy, get white marine-tex. Tape off area, get a dremel and scuff the area and grind out to be a bit lower then rest. Mix marine tex and apply. Then sand, finish with a wet sand and compound and wax. Can barely notice it. Took about 2 hours and under $50. You tube gel coat repair

I wouldn't think that amount of "dock rash" would cause a hole in the boat. I'ld be interested in spider cracks around the mounting fixtures. Just a quick inspection, in side and out, will give you piece of mind. Looks like you smacked the pier straight on, I would think a more side ways shot would be more stressful on the mounting fixtures and hard wear.

Thank-you for your responses and advice!

Greatly appreciated!
