It looks like the tank plumbing on my boat was replaced at some point and they had a surplus of marine tubing. I like all my plumbing and wiring to be neat and clean. Are there any reasons I'm not seeing where I shouldn't dress my pipes? I'd rather have shorter neater runs than the way it's currently plumbed. Obviously not "short" though.
The biggest run I want to address is the one from my tank to the macerator. It's like 15' long and only needs to be about 5'. I just want to cut it back so it fits nicer and to remove a kinked section. There's another ridiculously long one that goes to the seacock. It's easy to get to right now while my engine is out.

Thanks.

No reason at all to not fix/shorten it... that kink can't be good.

I would go ahead and get new hose also.

The rest of the hose is actually pretty good. It's just grungy on the outside. Well, I guess it's more than grungy on the inside too... Depending on whether or not I have enough left when the kink is cut out, I might end up buying a new hose anyway.

You certainly want to get the kink out. But, you may need to look at this from the opposite perspective. Could the loop in the existing hose be there to create an above waterline spot in the plumbing to prevent unintended back flow through the seacock & pump?

I could see that as a possibility, but the only way I would know is by talking to people with the same system as mine to see if they have a similar hose set-up. I kind of doubt the backflow prevention scenario, but anything is possible.
Incidentally, I left out of Newburyport harbor a few months ago for a trip out off of Hampton to bury my father at sea. We have a place in Seabrook Beach. I was a mate on a fishing boat growing up every summer there.
