“The World Health Organisation has backflipped on its original COVID-19 stance after calling for world leaders to stop locking down their countries and economies.”

WHO has not changed its stance at all and was never in favor of lockdowns as a primary means of stopping covid. Here's an article from May:

BTW, Dr. Nabarro's remarks have been covered in the U.S. press:

Some facts to clarify things:
1. He is not the WHO. He is a doctor that works for the WHO. One of hundreds.
2. His comments in the interview were personal, not those of the WHO and are not the official views of the WHO.
3. Before you pile on to agree with him completely, realize that he is saying that lock downs should not be the “primary” way to battle COVID because of economic impacts. That is what everyone is saying. He is not unique. Virtually everyone agrees that lockdowns cannot be sustained.
4. He is a vocal advocate of social distancing, mask wearing (oooh the evil socialist), and testing as the primary methods to battle COVID.

So before you jump on his wagon, make sure you know what you are jumping on to.
 
Some of the posters around here are the king of inference! The original post stands, WHO changed their position. I am not jumping on anybody’s bandwagon. I will tell you that such post do go against the orthodoxy of Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

The article you posted does not say the WHO backflipped, just that the doctor had. You "doctored" the quote to say so. For shame. Also against the orthodoxy of social media.

Actually I’m too lazy for that it was a f*****g cut and paste.
 
And yet some US leaders, who shall remain nameless so as not to go political, advocate continued and new lockdowns. Go figure.
