My depth gauge on my boat just started flashing "NO DATA". I've tried resetting the connection coming from the transducer...with no luck. I presume I may have a bad transducer. Water temperature reads fine, but no depth reading. The transducer is a Smartcraft 8M6001947 and I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. Any help in troubleshooting or locating a suitable substitute for my transducer would be greatly appreciated.

Does this boat stay in the water? Have you tried cleaning the external surface of the transducer?

Best of luck and welcome to CSR!

Yes sir...that was my first attempt to fix. It does read water temp, but no depth data. I saw there was an in line fuse in the transducer harness...and I thought ye...it could be blown...not the case.

Sounds like a bad transducer. Temp can work when depth isn't and vice versa. It is not a "smart craft" part though. Airmar was the OEM for a long time. Not sure about 2017, but definitely something Sea Ray customer service can help with if you can't find it anywhere else.

Hi Jeff, did you ever get a replacement or figure out the issue. I am having the same exact issue.

Thanks

Might I interject? My depth guage never has a constant reading on any of my boats. By mid summer slime affects it. Also, more than anything what is the bottom like where you boat? If its soft mud like mine you wont get a solid bounce back.
Lots of things affect the ability to get a good reading.
My transducer is 30yo. It’s almost never the transducer. It has no moving parts to wear out. Look elsewhere.

I just bought the boat (used) this year and it went into the water clean. From day 1 the depth reading keeps just flashing 0.0. I pulled out the transducer and and cleaned it as well. Water temperature reads accurately.

There is a pretty good market for just the transducers, which indicates that they fail enough to be a market. Flashing the 0.0 is same as being out of water, so I would suspect the xducer or the cable or the pin connector on the gauge is kaput. The pin connector may have some corrosion on it.
