Hello - I’m about to rejoin the Sea Ray Family pending sea trial, engine survey and separate vessel survey. The she’s a 2004 with MAN D2876LE401 700 HP. With 650 hrs. My question is are there any specific areas to pay attention to. The mechanics are certified authorized MAN techs who have been caring for her since new.

Any advice from Club SeaRay members would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe there are any current members with MAN's in a 480DB so any cautions I could offer would be related to the other power packages. Having owned a 480DB for almost 7 years there are no inherent issues with this model.

Good luck with the survey scheduled for 11.13.2020. The 480DB is a great boat and for our boating lifestyle, it is the right size, accommodations and easily maneuvered around the docks.
 
I'm sure survey will go well, but I would be questioning what the maintenance cost is on those Manns or can you do any yourself. I have found I can do most items on Cats and the Cummins group seems to be the same.
 
Bayside Diesel in Mystic, CT. Has maintained the engines and generator since new. They are one of the Authorized MAN and Cummins dealers in New England. I’ll know better going forward. I’ll provide updates on costs etc.

I am interested to hear your review of Bayside Diesel and how they handled the survey. I will be looking for an engine survey in the same area.

I’ll update the Forum on Bayside after the survey. Hoping for a clean bill of health.
 
Survey completed Engines and generator give a excellent bill of health. Bayside Diesel in Mystic, Ct. did an excellent job. Highly recommend them if you have MAN’s. Closing next.
