Installing Water tank gauge - 1998 Sundancer 290

Since these models do not have a fresh water tank gauge, has anyone installed one?
All too often my tank is empty at a bad time, so any ideas will be welcome

I've often searched for same. We have an older Searay and would love to install a fresh water level system that works.

Tank Tender is the best one I've ever seen. Very simple and absolutely works for fresh water and holding tank for years with no maintenance. I installed one on my Tiara after the warranty period was over because the electronic one the factory installed never worked properly. I have seen them on 40 year old boats and they still work. Walstroms in Harbor Springs put me onto the gauge. It became the go to gauge to deal with warranty issues on the ones that failed in the new boats they sold.

Or, if you have a NMEA 2000 data network then the Maretron TLM-100.

Our boat was built with a dedicated tank sender and matching gauge. Ours was made by Wema. They have rebranded under the KUS US name.
