Shore power reverse polarity

Does that mean there could have been electrical current in the water?
Why wouldn’t a breaker in the shore panel open?
Dangerous situation?
Another reason why you shouldn’t swim in marina?

1. Yes,
2. Because low voltage indicates high resistance which restricts current flow, not likely going to trip a 50A breaker.
Now if that were a 50A GFI it probably would have tripped.
@menos22 if not a GFI now, it would be about $100 to upgrade, may be a good idea.
3.Yes
4.Yes, or around any dock with electric

Thanks.
Until I joined this forum never knew about danger of swimming in marina that had electric.
Used to always let my Black Lab swim around the boat and he would climb up the swim platform ladder.
