Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

The boat is a 2000... the HWH is original... the element''s been changed a few times. The HWH is a rusty mess. A new element i had the yard put in cost me $300 last season. I needed it done quickly during the week as we spent the weekend on the boat with no hot water and were going away with friends the following weekend.
For the $360 I was able to get the SS version with free shipping. I didn't think it was so hard to install.
I never did anything to the risers... the yard did all that work.... Any info on the Riser gaskets or similar would be helpful.

Hey all - been a while since I've been on here, but it's good to be back.

I'm having a lot of water collect in my aft cabin ('99 310DA). I say water, but really, the carpet is continuously damp. If I push your finger down on the carpet, you can also visually tell that it's soaked. I vacuum it up constantly, but it's almost every week it collects water. I assume it's rain water, because the boat doesn't leak anywhere else, so I'm guessing it comes in somewhere and slowly makes its way to the lowest point, which would be there, or the engine bilge.

Few questions

1) has anyone had this issue before?
2) where should I start looking for water?
3) my boat is covered and the helm and aft aren't wet after a storm
4) It produces condensation, mold, and mildew in the cabin and in the carpet, so it's causing more issues than just a wet floor.

I was thinking maybe the port holes, or something? I really have no idea where to start as that area of the aft is small and not a lot of places to trace from.

This happened to me twice. I inspected the water tank found no leaks. The problem resulted from water entering the engine vent on the starboard side at the bottom of the radar arch. Once from power washing the other during a bad storm with high winds. Hope this helps.

Mine came from a leaky frig.....fixed....

On my 2000 it was the side windows. They had a bad seals. The water would enter and slide down the wall / panel hard to see. It would then work it way down to the floor area. New seals corrected the problem. Hope this helps. A good indicator that this could be the problem is if the water is found after rain or washing the boat.

They twist (counter clockwise). Kind of stiff at first. I replaced all my lights with LEDs and am really happy. Took some testing to get the right color temperature bulbs though, due to personal taste.

I have a slip at Anchorage Yacht Club

We looked there but no luck.....nothing around for sale or rent there for us,,,......so were at a regular boat yard,

This maybe a stupid question but on my 2002 310 The light for the forward sump keeps coming on then goes off, Which is the forward sump and is this normal? Is the forward sump the one with the shower?

Thanks for any help.

on my 390 it was the fwd sump(shower box) run the shower and see if its coming on and off, then stop shower. check again. In rough water mine would come on and off from water shifting in box but not on long enough to pump out.

I just opened the boat up yesterday while I was at the dock it came on maybe from running the A/C.I meant to do that and forgot before we left. Thanks

Has anyone had the pleasure of replacing the mirror in the frt berth, opposite of the anchor storage locker and the starboard mirror in the aft cabin? I need to replace mine but not sure how to access them without causing damage. Any help would be apperciated!

I'm in the midst of fixing my cabin door. I took the door apart and found a broken track, a broken train and a bunch of broken trucks. Now that I've educated myself I understand that the doors are put together with tracks, trains and trucks. The four trucks on the bottom of the two doors appear to be 23mm. The trucks on the upper doors seem to be 25mm and 31mm. The Inner door has something that was screwed along the left side edge of the door that seems to be a strip of black plastic. It was disintegrated. FPMarine said that is a "Catcher". It's what makes the inner door move when sliding the outer door. They don't sell that piece nor do they know the dimensions. If anybody else has gone through this project and can tell me what this catcher is so I can order something similar I would appreciate your help.
Thanks Art

I measured the sweeper piece for the cabin and it is 37" x 2". When I ode red the whole kit from fp marine the included a piece that is 37x 1. I did not need it.

Maybe you or someone else can shed som light on a couple of projects. I went to remove the 12v socket in the cabin to replace it with a USB charger and after removing the screw in the face plate it would not come out. Thoughts?

Second, trying to remove microwave because it is not working and am not sure how it is held in. Thanks.

Recently tried to use my starboard wiper, sounds like grinding gears. I would like to replace it but have no idea how to access it. She's a 1998 310 model. It looks like removal of the ceiling behind the aft cabin door. Could not see anyway to remove this, the last thing I want to do is break one thing to fix another. Anyone had to replace one on this particular model? Seems like a daunting task..

It routes down the port side. I disassembled the OEM SeaWatch Antenna, took out the green plastic UHF/VHF antenna and replaced it with a $29.00 Digital Antenna from BestBuy. I used the original coax and bypassed the gain control by going directly to the back of the LED TV.

Long story short a few years a took off the original antenna and put a plate over the hole on the radar arch. We only watched DVD's. Skip to present day I have a brand new 21" HDTV w/DVD and I bought a new Glomex antenna. When I open the access port in the Radar arch i see a white coax that I assume is the Antenna cable. When I pull on it expecting the end of the cable going to the starboard side to be free, but the cable doesn't move. I have a tone generator. I put it on the cable end by the amplifier, but I can't hear it in the arch. I'm afraid to pull too hard on that cable, but I cant imagine what else it could be.
I plan on cutting a 4" access hole in the arch starboard of the light fixture to try to find the cable and help install the new antenna. Any thoughts on the cable I see in the arch?

My starboard wiper is not working either. On my boat which does not have the aft cabin, the wiper is accessed through the starboard ceiling light. It opens about a 5" access, enough to get a smaller hand and wrench. Not sure if your boat has this light as well.
