OK, so i replaced the escape hatch and was happy with the results of no leaks sending water to the front of the V-berth where the headliner is stained. We had heavy rain Sunday, I was on boat today, the v section was was wet under the mirror. Has anyone else had this type of leak?

Have to find the leak prior to replacing the headliner. Maybe once I remove the headliner I might get lucky to locate the source

I am dealing with the same thing as to a leaky SeaRay. It seems they are very proned to leaks at the rub rail and any penetration through the top of the hull. I am clear siliconizing all of these potential leak areas top and bottom of rub rail, all windows, Cleats that penetrate the hull, windshield wipers, etc. As the other member stated water can go a lot of directions.

I think I will start at the rub rail once I remove the headliner

I think by the time I find and seal most of the leaks, it will time to upgrade! Other than that, we love the boat

I've read a couple of threads where the V-berth leak ended up being the seals (or lack thereof) for the navigation lights.

Thanks for that input! another place to check and seal.

Anchor locker hatch?

Anchor locker itself? If the clamshell hull drain is clogged and you have any cracks/holes in the locker, it could weep into that area.

I stay on top of the clam shell hull drain, especially after a rain due to the wood under the locker rotting away. I will have to check for cracks in the locker. Thanks. Trust me, I am taking everyone's advice and compiling a list of areas to check. Don't want to waste money redoing headliner if it will get damaged as the original is now.

Hjb11355, your post just hit me, even with the canvas installed, I still get leaks round the wiper holes to the motor. Any remedy for this? Thanks

I have clear silicone everything. I think I have eliminated all but one leak. The storage compartment under the mattress still collects a little water. The last spot to seal is the anchor locker. When they installed the drains I noticed they are ~ 1/2" above the very bottom so not all water will drain as I have found. Water will go places you never thought it would but?? I plan to either add two more drains at the lowest point or build up to the existing drains with some of the rubberized liquid or spray product I have seen on TV and is available at HD. The intention is to seal the lower part of the anchor locker and make sure there is no standing water.

Let me know if you have successes as I am planning to re-floor (carpet or SeaDeck) the galley and want to make sure all leaks are stopped.

Another reason for catching all the leak areas. I am planning on installing Allure waterproof flooring after removing the floor carpet

That rubberized spray sounds like a good idea since I removed the contents of the anchor locker and everything is dry

If your anchor locker drains are high, perhaps pouring some liquid epoxy in the locker until they are flush would help.

The locker drains very low and sometimes collects wood splinters from underneath the hatch door so I always check the drain before we leave the marina
