Wiring question/issue….
When I turn on my navigation lights my individual gauges (trim, wired radio remote, depth finder, speed, RPM, trim, etc.) no longer light up? Navigation lights still work, and switch pads light up and even dim. But, none of the gauges light up - at first they were...
I'm looking for someone that has upgraded their OEM radio and still has a functioning Clarion wired remote model number M201RCS in which the display and backlight still functions. If you have one, message me please!
I have the Vesselview installed on my 2003 Sea Ray 280 with a single 496 MAG. I've never been able to figure out which alarms or otherwise I should block or disable based on the year and model of my engine. Anyone know how to figure that out? I believe mine is set to STBD engine, I haven't...
I've done it before, but it was a long time ago! I know I used a Dremel with some type of rotary drill bit on it and I remember it working very well. Anyone know what type of Dremel rotary drill bit is best to use cutting through the fiberglass?
I have a 2003 Sea Ray 280 Sundancer with the OEM radio head unit. It works just fine, but my FM reception isn't the greatest as it uses the OEM radio antenna (which is a wire that is around 3-4' long at best). I've heard in the past that a person could stick a long CB type antenna down the...
I installed the Vesselview Mobile device on my 2003 280 Sundancer which has a single 496MAG S/N 0M376155. After the install and starting the boat I immediately have 5 fault codes. How do I determine if they are an issue and even applicable to my engine? Idles around 670-700RPM (is that...
I have some motor oil/grime in the bilge, I tried a bilge cleaner and that did nothing, tried a grease cleaner by the WD40 brand and that did nothing as well. I need something that will break down the oil/grease - any recommendations?
Getting close to that time of the year when I need to place the boat into storage for the winter. I don't have a trailer, so marina does the work - the less I need to do, the more $ I save!
I do the typical which is flush the engine with RV Antifreeze, flush water and AC system, unplug...
Friend of mine heard from a mechanic that if he changes spark plugs he should then also verify timing hasn't changed. I've never heard that one before?
I have a 2003 Sea Ray with the 496 MAG in it (not the H.O. unit) and I've changed the spark plugs once probably 6-7 years ago and never...
I currently have JL Audio speakers installed in my boat. I'd like to mount two rear facing speakers, but the "bullet" style speakers from JL Audio are pretty large and putting them under the arch isn't really what I wanted to do from a looks standpoint - and cost perspective.
I'd like to...
The below is what the dealer provided me. I did a Google search and came up with nothing. I'm wondering who makes them?
Part#: MM2851138 Description: SPEAKER SYS, BE CREATIVE DECK 3" SPKR AS
So, dropped the boat in the water after winter storage. Started to overheat so I had to pull it back out of the water. It got hot enough that the alarm went off for about 3-5 minutes, started to run rough right before I shut it down. Had to get it on the trailer or it would have went into the...
I just added a JL 10" sub in my 280DA. I have 4 coaxials right now in the factory locations which is fine.
However, I'd like to figure out how to get some decent speakers (or one speaker??) up in the arch w/o distracting from the looks.
I wanted to install a single dual voice coil speaker...
I'm looking to upgrade my 4 speakers in the cockpit of my boat and adding a subwoofer.
I've used JL Audio in the past and liked that brand. I prefer not to drill any more holes in the boat (except for the sub) so I'd like to stick to standard speakers, not the component speakers if...
I was planning to winterize the A.C. on the boat today with it still in the water. I disconneted the hose that goes to the bottom of the boat and stuck it into a jug of antifreeze. But, it wouldn't suck it out? Does it need to be pressurized or something to suck out the antifreeze out of a jug?
First off, anyone ever done this themselves? I believe all the spark plugs are relatively accessible?
Next, what spark plugs should I use? Not sure if the OEM are Platinium Tips or not? If not, I think I'd like to go that route, or Irridium if recommended.
I was down in the engine compartment today and noticed the coolant was a little low. It was topped off about 1 month ago and I notice now that its a little low. I couldn't see any signs of it in the bilge - any idea where it would be going?
The 496 MAG is a closed cooling system.
The boat...
I have a 2003 Sundancer 280. It has the switch panel to the right of the steering wheel with a bunch of buttons on it. I'd like to gain use of the ACC 2 button and I'm wondering where to find the actual wiring harness to find the 12V source?
Thanks!
The TV in my 2003 Sundancer works off a 12v and 110 power source. Its old enough that it doesn't receive a signal anymore because everything went digital.
What can I get to start and receive a TV signal again? I need a digital TV converter box, I want something simple that is plug and play...
I have a Clarion XMD1 AM/FM CD Player with CD Changer Control. It is hooked up to a Clarion DC625 6 Disc CD Changer. I have 6 speakers so I know one output from the head unit is gong through a Marine Audio MAA120-2 Amplifier to power 4 of the speakers in the cockpit area I believe. The two...
