Re: '97 Engine access
Two batteries, both dual purpose on stb side getting replaced with one deep cell and one starter battery. Which way do I piggy back them? Starter battery then hang the deep cell off that? Or deep cell first then hang starter off deep cell Batt?
Re: '97 Engine access
Hi All. Quick question on the emergency start. Port side, (1) new battery, no issues. Starboard batteries (2) are dead after a day on the hook with fridge and stereo. They need to be replaced, obviously. I use the emergency start to get STB started (after port side is...
Similar situation I had, but I was the bonehead. I thought I turned on the port ignition key, but nope. Would only start with the crossover, but would die when I let go of the switch. Could be the ignition switch?
My apologies for any confusion. Ran up to the marina this afternoon had the mechanic take a quick look. It's nice during the week when nobody is around. One gets moved to the front of the line for a quick check.
It appears the outer plastic seal melted. some of it was wrapped around the...
Hello All,
I have a '95 370DA with 454 carbs. New props put on at beginning of the season. We were cocktail cruising about 1100 RPMs for a couple of hours yesterday. We had 10 people on board. Cubs game was going to start soon, so I hit the gas to get back to marina. We ran 3800 RPMs for a...
Thanks to TheWolf and Rubber Duckee for their advice on my VFH calbe route. Taking off the bolster is the key. From there i pushed my fish wire down the outside of the wire loom and was able to hook the wire with a hanger from the helm. At the helm, I took off all but the last screw of the...
At the helm there should be a switch on the left half of the panel labled lights with one of them being bilge. The bilge switch on the right side of the helm panel is for the actual bilge pump.
Damn Rubber Duckee, you da man! Great idea. Weather here in Chicago was 40 and rainy all day so I sat home all day watching TV with the dogs. None of us wanted out. :smt001
I presume I'll be able to see how to get to the arch from there without having to take the bolster off?
Hi Gene,
Hope you're doing better! I'm able to slide the helm seat off no problem but still can not get that last screw on the bottom. Hoping my fish tape and taking the padded bolster off will do the trick!
Thanks Wolf. I have good access on all three speaker holes and the subwoofer hole at my feet. What I can't get off/out is the big plastic housing just to the right of the helm. I can get to all the screws but one and the only way it looks to get that one is to take the entire helm station out...
Hello Gene,
Do you recall the path your VHF cable took? I can't seem to find a way from the arch to the helm. Will I need to drop into ER, then forward and up to helm thru existing chase?
Hello All,
Replacing my VHF antennae and cable. Antennae and cable connected to STBD arch no problem. My problem is from the arch to the helm. Is there a pathway from the arch to the helm? The old VHF cable came right out from the helm and was not even connected to antennae (that would...
