Should be a fun trip. Weather is the key. In Michigan there is a harbor of refuge no more than 50 miles apart so you are within 25 miles of one. Just duck in if weather changes. Yes charts and a compass that is accurate. GPS very helpful but charts and a compass never fail. Doug
