I have a factory Good Rope Windlass. My question is...When I am realing in the rode/rope and the line goes slack the windlass seems to not slip or no pull in the rode...When the light is tight the windlass has no problems... Is my windlass malfunctioning, and if so what could be wrong?

Over the last ten hours on the motor my trim guage mysteriously stuck to the fully upright position. This was while the drive was trimmed down and we were at about 25 knots, tac is goes a little crazy everynow and then (have to tap the tac to get it back on track), and my oil pressure guage...

I have a friend that swears in running Rotella 15w40 in his "gas" 454 engines on his boat. Has anyone heard of using this oil? I have always related Rotella to diesel applications.

Im in no way a mechanic, but I was told the piston sucked an exhaust something into the engine. Mechanic says the drvie is melted and he cannot get it apart...Im done complaining. I just want to make sure after this hefty chunk of change I should'nt be lookin at a 3-5k bill here or there..
