Ron, yes I have 614 hours on the injectors. I faithfully use the diesel power service fuel additive and also an additive for growth in the fuel system. Never had any gas accidentally put in the tanks. FW- I can see the smoke for a 1/4 mile behind the boat, would vapor linger that long?

I am running at 2300-2400 RPM which shows 19.6 knots. I see the smoke at about any speed. The lower the speed the thicker the smoke. My WOT is around 2800-2900 I think. I am still using the original analog tachs which are a little "jerky"

After much research, I have concluded that DEO 30 is the correct oil for my 1996 3126's. I keep the boat in MO so the temps are correct for the SAE30.........will someone please confirm that I am correct on this matter. Last year the CAT dealer told me to use 15-40????????????

A small piece of the valve broke off. It went through the cylinder and scored the wall. Then traveled through the turbo and trashed it. Then it reportedly exited the boat through the exhaust port. We basically installed a new engine. The 3126 is a dry sleeved engined, so there is no boring...

Fabick out of Jeff City did it for us......they were great to work with and did a fine job. Lampe Marine at the Lodge of Four Seasons also helped out with a lot of the process and did a flawless job
