Anyone familiar with Tennessee, I need some help...
The admiral and I are looking to possibly move to the Memphis or Nashville area. Obviously, one of the MAJOR contributing factors for me is the ability to continue boating (and maybe even step-up to the 35).
Just looking for any words of...
Dave - you are a genius! If we ever meet, I owe ya a beer! Finally made it down to the boat today to start this project, and your instructions were perfect! All hooked-up, nearly 30 channels, and all I have left to do is drill the hole. Thanks!!! :smt038
Dave - this is starting to become so widespread, I can certainly understand your difficulties. But like the other have said, hang in there, buddy!!
I got a dose of reality yesterday when I went down to MM to pick-up a part. The place was seriously a MORGUE!! As I got talking to the service...
Well I sure hope they're ok! Hate to see that happen to anyone.
These are the kinds of stories though that make me glad I'm a little paranoid at the gas dock. Everyone off the boat, shut-off the battery, vent the cabin afterwards, and run the blower when done. Better safe than charbroiled...
I had a leak in just about that same spot this summer. There is an insulated pin in part of steering system that is actually a little further up in that opening there. Over time, the pin will rust, wear away the housing it is in, and create a leak. Once you get to a mechanic and they pull the...
I have a diver go down once a month in the summer, and every other month in the colder months. Still got a little more than a year out of the last paint job.
Vince - not sure what you mean by "fitted winter cover", but I ordered a cockpit cover (that goes under the arch) from Great Lakes Boat Top. It was like $700, and you have to install the snaps. If that's not what you're talking about - sorry.
Mine was doing the same thing, but there can't be anything wrong with my trim indicators or anything because all that crap was just replaced. I just shut it off because I was sick of watching it flicker all over the place.
My logic exactly! Thanks for the sanity check, Gerry. Hopefully once I survive one (or more?) of these, I'll be the one answering and asking the questions!
Gerry, I took all my Bimini canvas down (aft piece and 2 pieces around the radar arch), and have the boat about 5 miles inland right now. But I left my cockpit cover ON with my logic being I'd rather have the storm beat-up my cockpit cover than my vinyl. I also don't want water leaking through...
SB - not sure if the size of our respective boats make a difference, but everyone here told me to get the hell out! The biggest problem with staying IN the water is not what you do, but what others DON'T do. You're boat may stay put, but the fool that didn't do things right and has no...
With like 3-4 of them lined up out in the Atlantic, I had to bite the bullet...the boat came out this afternoon and is safe and secure on land.
What's worse is that as I was running it up to the ramp, it was about 85 degrees and sunny and the water was sooooooo smooth. Oh the torture! :smt089
WestMarine carries a product that has teflon in it. You apply, work the zipper/snap, and wipe off. I did this once about 6 months ago, and it is STILL working great! The $5 is small in boating dollars.
Dave - that 250DA is the eventual replacement I mentioned a few weeks ago. I just thought the actual replacement was happening in '09...looks like the 240 will survive another year.
Dave - my converter came in the mail yesterday, and everything looks good to go. The only thing I'm a little skiddish on is the wiring for the power. Can you go into any more detail about which wires are back there that I am splicing into and how you did it? Wiring ain't my thing...sorry if...
Welcome to the NC Sea Ray family! We're a ways south of you, but lovin' life down here at Wrightsville! I've really found that the 260 is perfect for what we do around here (short trips and days on the hook). Let me know if you're ever down in this area.
Oh yeah. I'm off the ledge too, thanks for asking. Just got her back yesterday, and for some reason no matter what's happened or how long she's been in the shop, all my concerns and issues float away by the time I leave that first "no wake" zone and head back to the marina.
I've just gotta...
The boats always gonna go over a little bit until you bring the outdrive up. Was the drive up or down when he adjusted the tabs??
Out of the hole, I am fine, once it gets about 3/4 of the way up, the lean begins (especially if my fuel is 1/2 tank or less, and I have not pumped out in a bit...
