Yeah it was a nightmare to get the boat basically into brand new condition just to have the darn superstorm total it. Now I have all this stuff. Don't want to dumpster it for sure. Hoping to stay in the family in a bigger boat either this year or next so we shall see.
Hey Guys.
Been awhile hope all is well. As most of you know I lost my boat (2006 240DA)during hurricane sandy but still have many things that Searay sent over (Brand New) including the rear compartment cushions (2 Pads). I have a brand new set of these. Let me know if anybody is interested in...
Hey All,
Haven't been on much lately but hoping to get back into the scene next year with a new boat for me. Miss you all here and hoping you and your family have a great Holiday season and a very happy New Year.
Stay Safe and here's to a good 2014 Boating Season. :)
Thanks Matt for your response. Please do let us know about the Venture expansion once you can share. :) And yes I did notice the Meridian influences as well. Only natural that would happen as the 2 companies are related.
If you speak to Denise and Rob Nye please tell them Alvin says hello...
Welcome aboard Matt. Are some of the new changes in the Fly 510 going to be incorporated into the smaller Fly Bridge boats? Also speaking with Denise Scalf awhile back she said the new Venture platform with outboards on the cruisers would be introduced to the smaller cruisers soon. Any ideas on...
Re: How old were you when you bought your first boat? The young are not buying boats
36 - 2010 185BR Bayliner (New)
37 - 2006 240 DA (Used)
Hopefully 40 - (2006-2008) 341 Meridian
Your bilge shouldn't be coming on alot or at all for that matter. If so you might have a small leak somewhere. Examples rainwater coming in via windows ports or rubrail, small leak from you transom, if freshwater cooled maybe your freshwater connection aren't on properly, maybe you have a small...
Ok cool. Just wanted to make sure you specifically looked out for that. Just as an example here is my brother-in-laws boat that was submerged. http://cnj.craigslist.org/boa/3730239676.html. I know the history and called the guy to get the story he was telling. Complete fabrication.
Please make sure it isn't a Post Sandy restore boat. Just go through it carefully and ask for the history. I have seen some boats that I know where totaled by Sandy up here yet selling as "Almost Perfect Condition".
Thanks all for the words above.
Alex, its not just the boat. There are other circumstances/commitments that I have made for this year that won't allow me to be on the water as much as I would like even if I did find the right boat. Your right in the sense if I wanted to settle for something I...
Well I am going to sit this season out officially as I just can't find the right boat that we want. So I am going to visit this site alittle less as it's hard to visit here without a boat. To think I actually miss the de-winterization process right now. :(
Have a great and safe season to all...
