Okay here is the situation, I replaced my impeller, and then the engine wouldn't turn over. Checked the battery, got a couple of jump chargers, checked spark it was fine. But still nothing.
Gave the boat to the local shop and they checked the fuel pump, they said the cylinders were wet...
Well, last week I had checked a few hoses for the remaining pieces and put the raw water pump back in the boat, dropped it in the water the next day and found out I hadnt tightend one clamp. A little excitement as the water streamed in, but Im glad it was the only one.
Tried to turn it over...
What do you use to get the impeller into the housing, I was told to use dish soap, but not dawn. Someone else implied regular body soap like ivory, but I have zest. :smt021 What about an oil or grease?
What can I use that will not break down the neoprene and not become tacky, as it...
While I was pulling out my raw water pump, I noticed this rust around the bottom of the hot water heater. Is this cause for concern? And what action should I take?
I was finally able to head out yesterday, first time in a few weeks. The boat was running pretty good, got up on plane easy, although she seemed a little slow, 22-24 mph @ 3500 rpm but I figured, maybe it was just me.
So I get to my favorite cove, about a 10 minute scoot from the...
Did you ever have that feeling as you are driving away from the boat that something just isnt quite right? Here is my latest rookie adventure, fortunately, I didnt have to pay a stupid tax. Last weekend I went to the Marina to do some minor maintenance, top off the fluids, clean the sea...

The Admiral and I went out Saturday and washed the boat down for the first time, WHAT A CHORE!! :smt009 :smt021 The next time I'll know what to expect so it should be easier.
This gave me a chance to check the range of motion on the trim tabs, I noticed the port trim tab stopped almost...
I have read several threads where members discuss using one battery for starting and one battery for "the house". How do you determine which is which, and when do you switch? I was only told to put my battery switch on "both" when I board and make sure I turn it to "off" when I leave the boat...
Had a chance to "weigh anchor", (always wanted to say that), this weekend, and I ran into an interesting dilemma,
I have what looks to be about 150' - 200' of all chain rode, and after I figured out how to work the windlass, I didn't know when to stop paying out chain. How do you know when...
I finally got tired of the countless hours spent looking for the perfect tow vehicle, trying to figure out how to get out of my leased Honda with out cashing out my kids inheritance, etc. etc. So yesterday I signed the contract for dry storage and I feel sooo much better. Now I can ride out my...
Okay Guys, here is the latest in my newbie saga, I should really write a book.... Went out to the lake after work, and I was by myself. Todays goal was to clean the boat, fuel it and prepare it to be picked up and trailered to the storage lot. I already touched base with the fuel attendant, he...
Well, I finally was able to get back out on the lake today, and it felt GREAT!!! Right after work I had a friend pick up my oldest son and meet me at the lake, and we took her out for a quick run. He was trying to convince me to let him tie off his wake board rope to the center grab bar on the...
Phoenix will be beautiful this weekend, 85 degrees and sunny, But the Admiral has me doing so many other things, Its not worth getting the boat to the lake. :smt021 I may just take a day off next week. Im thinking of selling my car just so I can afford a slip, is this normal newbie behavior? If...
Has anyone tried these harnesses particularly on a 270 DA? I had been looking at having a tow eye installed, but this looks like the better alternative. My oldest son doesnt ski but he likes to be pulled on a tube.
Im looking for advice on a tow vehicle, I have been looking for a 2500 Suburban or Yukon XL with the 8.1 to pull my 270 Sundancer, but I'm finding a pretty good deals on Armadas and 6.0 'burbs. I would love to hear everyones thoughts on 6.0 vs 8.1 'burbs vs Armadas under load.
Hi all, I thought it was time for me to speak up, I have been lurking for a couple of months now. I am a new boat owner, bought my '98 270 Dancer in the beginning of the year. I am enjoying all of the info, boating and otherwise  keep it up.
