I have both of my Alpha One drives off for the winter to replace impellers and give them a general once over sense the boat was new to us last year, and we are finding the previous mechanic didn't do so great. One of my projects is to sand down many years of bottom pain and repaint the drives to...
Id like an ice maker in our 1994 30DA. I was hoping to find one that will fit somewhere that would have been original if the boat had been built with one. We have a friend with a 40 foot that is a 12v mounted up on the deck.
Were back. We tried sailing for two years, loved it... but really missed the amenities of a big cruiser. So we found a 1994 Sundancer 300DA. Ive tried uploading pictures but its not working
Here are some pics of the switch. It is a single pole on the front, but the back of it looks like 3 separate breakers. Anyone know what numbers I need off this sticker?
Thanks. I hope to make it back to the boat before the weekend to get a look at it. From what I remember it was a single pole but on the back it had three places with wires in them. But that's based off memory from last year. I let you know how I make out.
I have an 88 268 Sundancer. Its just our second year with it. Last year the frig worked fine when plugged into shore power. This year it was fine while at home plugged in preparing for launch. Last weekend while on shore power it seemed to sound like it was trying to come on but what little it...

My spring project this year was to redo as much wood as possible. I removed the wood rails on the bow, all trim around the stern of the boat and the pulpit. The pulpit I used a pure teak oil, not sure the brand and no erothane. The rest, including the swim platform vents I sanded until they...
I have a 268. I had an aft cabin leak that only occurred when it was heavy rain. It took me a few rain storms to figure out I needed to take some stuff apart. It ended up being under the windshield. There was a broke off bolt from a previous windshield removal. Here is the million dollar...
A bit of a side note. I read a LOT of winterizing blogs on here in the fall. Many about what to use for coolant in the block, RV anti freeze VS normal engine coolant. Next year I will try engine coolant. There was a TON of rust in the motor. Not sure if this is a consequence of RV antifreeze or...
On my 88 Sundancer the frig is plugged into an outlet located behind the sink. I THINK the way they work is, when plugged into 110 it operates a converter (converting to 12v). So if it works on 12v but not 110 its a power to the frig issue. My frig came out with 4 screws, not sure if the newer...
I got into fixing up old boats so much I decided to do some detailing on the side. I always use the 3M compound. My lesson learned was that you NEED to wax your boat after you get the chalk out. The UV brings the oxidation RIGHT back.
No. Was pretty confident it was in the lower end. When I found out it wasn't, it was only $25 for the top end seal kit so I said why not just reseal the top to. If it still leaked I would have pressure tested it. When I bought the boat last year I was told both drives had been resealed. As you...
Problem fixed. We originally thought it was the shift linkage seal located behind the water pump in the lower half of the drive. Got it all back together and it still leaked. So I figured it was the top end. Replaced all the seals in the top end and no leaks. :)... here are some pics
