No idea. I suppose anything is possible but I'm pretty sure the DTS system is tied into the engine computer so I'm going to doubt it. Also, I couldn't see where the Diesel motors option (in the 280DA brochure) were equipped with DTS.
You might try to contact a John Mosetti at Boats Unlimited...
As a follow-up, found my 280DA with DTS and I am really glad I waited for one so equipped. Super smooth shifts and throttle and NO worries with the dreaded IAC problem as DTS equipped motors don't have one (at least the 496's don't).
I did a lot of research and replaced the stock Lowrance LMS-520C (5" screen), with a Garmin 743XSV (7" screen). Very happy with it. Wanted to put in the 9" screen but would not have fit or looked good.

IMHO, like many things, because of different circumstances and situations you could get different answers that are correct. For example, with one motor and two batteries, I tried to use one battery going out and switched to the second battery coming back, so both got approximately the same...
Most of the major VHF manufacturers (Icom, Furuno and Raymarine) make what they call "black box" marine vhf radios, not to be confused with the brand name Black Box radios. Just do an online search.
