the manifolds had a little time left but I knew the boat was going up for sale so I thought I would avoid any issues...the boat was used 4 years and had a bit more left, they are the catalytic low emission engines so those manifolds get pretty hot. I'm sure if I had a flushing system set up I...
Hello sorry for the late reply!!! Ok Jimmy, I used the searay fittings for the underwater exhaust and they work great got them online I think from a searay reseller.

This is not your run of the mill Sea Ray Amberjack. A repower completed in 2016 with twinMerCruiser 425 HO 8.2L is only the beginning. With more power and more efficient motors than any other Amberjack on the market, she has...
Thanks! Well, shooting for thursday or Friday now...hope to have the canvas, props, shafts all ready for a glamor shot! with the old props slipping a bit i was able to run along the beach @ 24mph burning 30gph...I should pick up a good 2 knots whit the new cupping and pitch so I think my goal of...
Ok correction!! Not sure what I was thinking...The Hatch did NOT have to be removed but the seats came out and the rams disconnected to get the proper access, opening the hatch higher
Good morning...well all is done and I am now waiting for my 18 X 21 props to be re-pitched by one inch and my canvas guy to take some pics of the final product. The engines and trannys came out together but the seats had to come out and the hatch had to be removed to get the proper access. That...
Exhaust going straight back to a wall mounted pipe then drops down to the modified vernalift muffler...Engine started today and running, is super quiet even while still out of the water!!The Eagles have landed....[ATTACH]
Many thanks! Well yes, it will be interesting to see how this setup works compared to the OEM setup. I spoke to a mechanic that was working on the new 37 searay and he said that it was as silent as the stern drives...we will see. I got the exhaust part # from searay and found the part on...
Below is the latest...exhaust all glassed in and new generator going in easy without engines in the way. Got 2k for the old one and new was 8k so it took some of the sting out! was not expecting generator disaster but it was 4k to overhaul it so it made sense to replace for a couple of grand.
Ok will do... I'm installing merc HO 425 HP DTS ECT engines and converting to underwater exhaust. I have been posting all the progress on the official 34 amberjack thread. Def not going to cruise at 30 knts! Look to get 24/25 knts at 3400 at around 30ish gph, we'll see.
I was getting around 20...
Thanks! Ok I believe we went with a 5" exhaust line...the second hole is a relief port when the engine is at about idle when the pressure is not great enough to push out the bottom. Looks like it was easy to get the generator out, thats good, the bad is the corrosion from a leak has me now doing...
Pair of 2001MerCruiser 7.4 L MPI gasoline inboard 370 hp with transmissions 600 hours. Engines are coming out of a SeaRay Amberjack 34 in excellent running condition. I am rebuilding the entire boat top to bottom. Boat is being upgraded to higher HP to run 30 knts. Engines are in complete...
Hello I saw your thread on the rail tie what a bummer! Did you end up repowering? I am installing merc 425 HO's now on my amberjack and converting to underwater exhaust....Brian
Not sure why that would happen especially with underwater exhaust...I have my 34 AJ torn up for repower and conversion to underwater system and hope that's not an issue. Maybe I will get one of those handhelds, how much//where did you get it....? Brian
Re: Re-power with underwater exhaustNice boat and thanks for the reply...great to hear the underwater exhaust cleaned up the fume problem! I am hoping the emissions on these new mercs are alot less as well
