    Official 380 Thread

Recently completed a total electronics conversion from 2001 Raytheon to latest Garmin technology on 2001 DA. If anyone is interested in original electronics (radar, MFD, Course Computer, GPS, VHF, AP, compass, etc.) send me a pm and let me know. Everything was operational when removed.

Thought I would share my 454 MAG MPI fuel usage chart. Recently added the Fox Gateways and was able to capture RPM, speed and fuel usage to help generate the attached chart. Results confirm what I already suspected (sweet spot between 2900 and 3100 RPM) depending on conditions. Of course, the...

Never know what you will see

We have them transiting to from the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station frequently. CG escorts always keep us at least 500 yards away. I spent 9 years under water while on active duty so not curious about getting too close anyway.

Thanks, Bruce SEA 993. I had seen your previous work and that is what convinced me to go with the 1242 in that spot. I am installing the 942 in the switch panel similar to what amajamar showed in his upgrade posts. Did you change your transducer to support the sonar?

    Official 380 Thread

I am going through the process of updating the 20 year old electronics (Raytheon to Garmin) on my 2001 380DA. So now i have a couple of MFD's (1242xsv & 942xs) with sonar capability. Need to replace the existing transducer with another thru-hull, Garmin compatible, flush mount transducer that...

MysticView Did you ever install the new refrigerator? My 12 year old Vitrifrigo just quit and am beginning the process. Any recommendations or thoughts/lessons would be appreciated. Thanks

    Fogging in the wood

I think this is what you are writing about. I have only this one spot on my boat. It appears to be where the wrong cleaner was used and is adjacent to the power panel access so it is always in my face. Is there any hope of repair?

    Door Trim Replacement

Have a 2001 380DA. The trim surrounding the door leading to the salon from the cockpit has discolored and needs replacing (see photos). Have searched the internet with the part number but cannot find a replacement. Anyone have any recommendations?

    Salon Stereo Speakers Not Working

Continued the troubleshooting today by swapping the channel inputs to the amps to isolate the issue. dtfeld is correct - the two channel installed amp feeds the salon speakers and the Clarion 4-channel amp feeds the cockpit speakers. Turns out that one side of the cockpit speakers are inop as...

    Salon Stereo Speakers Not Working

Thanks for the feedback. I found my DC Wiring Schematic and it shows the head unit directly driving the salon/forward cabin speakers without going through an amp and an amp driving the cockpit/arch area speakers (No indication of two amps on the schematic.) However, the second amp is definitely...

    Salon Stereo Speakers Not Working

Have a 2001 380 DA which is mostly original. Today while working on the boat and listening to my Clarion XMD1 stereo I heard a loud popping noise from the salon overhead speaker and the salon speakers quit working (Forward stateroom and cockpit speakers remained functional). Pulled the seat...

    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...Mercrusier Engines or Lemons?

Gee - what a nightmare! I have the same engines in my 2001 Sundancer that I bought one year ago (now with 575 hours). My first year of ownership brought a failed fuel pressure regulator, replacing leaking oil line hoses, and have scheduled to have the 3 year old manifolds and risers changed...

    Water leak while running

I just changed my hoses today and found items #11 and #13 needed replacement also. These gaskets are inexpensive and changing could preclude another oil leak hunt.

    Remote Oil Filter Hose replacements

I am in the middle of the same process now. Changing all six hoses for both engines. Went with the $800+ new OEM hoses, but figure they will last another 16 years - like the old ones. However, if I am still around in 16 years, I think I will have someone else install them....

    House Battery Bank Question

Thanks. I followed Mittens' advice and determined STBD bank is for house. I recently installed a new battery charger and wanted to hook up the temp sensor to the house bank battery. Appreciate your help.
