Recently purchased 2001 380 DA and the Salon Table has a problem. The gas spring protrudes from the bottom and with the table upright, it rocks. Is there a missing part/cover that keeps the gas spring in the cylinder? Any thoughts.

Recently purchased 2001 380 DA and the Salon Table Gas Spring does not stay in the table cylinder. Is the table base missing something that holds the gas spring in the cylinder? Thanks for any help.
