I'm cleaning up some stuff I never needed due to an upgrade, so this is New in Box and includes USB connectivity. This would be great for adding an AIS device to a Raymarine setup or adding in additional NMEA 0183 devices. It was $200 shipped from New Zealand, but I'll take $130 shipped to...
New in box (Never installed) SR50 Sirius Weather Receiver. Comes with all parts and pieces from factory. Retails for $440 if you look around. I'd like to get $325 shipped to CONUS. I have pictures if you need them.
Great question... Because I was thinking that a splitter/one antenna would actually be a cleaner solution. limits the holes I have to drill :-) I'm guessing it will work fine because it's uni-directional data aka receivers. SRS-3 from shakespeare is very similar to what I'm going to do, so...
Simple reason: I like the radio sirius interface vs. having to switch the sirius stations through the C80. Unless I don't understand the workings properly, I believe that the RCA adapter out of the SR50 only sends an audio feed vs. a signal that the CMD4 will decode. The other more...
I just ordered a new Raymarine SR50 weather receiver from Jim at BOE and was wondering if anyone has this configured as follows:
SR50 ---> C80
Galaxy Sirius ant. ---> Splitter ----> SR50
----> Clarion Head unit
This is on a 270AJ, and my antenna is...
Just ordered a new MercMonitor yesterday, which I'll be installing on the 270AJ. I'll take pictures. There is already a SC Tach/Smart Troll in place. I plan to replace the speedo since I typically utilize GPS for this function anyways. Since I'll now be able to link Smartcraft to NMEA 2000...
I love my 270AJ. It's a 2007 and we've used it frequently with low maint costs. Typically take it 30mi out to Stellwagen or up to Rockport or south to Nantucket. Performs well because it's so much heavier than a similarly sized DA. I cruise at about 21kts burning between 14-16GPH depending...
Another spot that I am fond of is Hingham inner harbor. Check out Baxter Marine services for dockage or a mooring. Quiet and relaxing with some great places to eat in town. Also not far from Worlds end if you want a nice place to anchor out and swim...
I'm looking for anyone wanting to sell a new/used Northstar NS100DS radio setup. I currently have the NS100SS that came with the boat but want to upgrade to a loudhailer which requires either the DS or another radio alltogether. To keep the install easy and fitting existing holes, I'm looking...
Yeah, Smuttynose is real :-) just happens to be the name of one of my favorite beers as well.
As for the Lobstah pots, there are spots north of portland towards Bath and boothbay Harbah where you could practically walk along the surface on the pot markers. The nice thing is, in Maine at...
I've cruised most of the Maine Coast since I grew up there. I would have to say Isle Au Haut is one of my favorites... Absolutely beautiful. Other notable funspots on the way up the coast... Smuttynose Island - Isle of Shoals off Portsmouth. In and around Hermit island - Popham Beach area...
If I wanted nav lights I would have said nav lights. I'm an Elec. Engineer so I understand LED light patterns and such. I'm looking for replacements for the arch lights (underside courtesy lights to be more specific) and cabin courtesy lights primarily for longevity and reduction of power...
It was the rt 28 bridge next to the "old lock" that is also a draw bridge. Let's just say it was raining rust when I went under it. The antenna knocked anything up there that was loose. I thought at first kids were throwing crap at us, but soon realized I was the moron. Oh well! The new...
My boating season is going to be shorter than normal so the next few weekends (and days if i can skip out of work) will be on the water. We are getting married in St. Thomas so that eats up 3 weeks in Oct. so looks like the end of sept. is all she wrote! I've put on 59 hours in 3.5 weeks since...
Yeah, I didn't want to compound one issue into another. The silver lining was that I found a major cut in the existing coax to the old antenna, I was able to cut that out and make sure i had a solid connection.
I figure some of you must be in the CGAUX... I was already to sign up but then I realized that didn't allow me to mount the .50 cal on the bow to fend off terrorists and people without enough lifejackets. :-)
