Thanks for help all. Turns out it was the cool fuel module. Water ports were restricted by gunk not allowing water to circulate, thus causing fuel pump to overheat (my diagnoses) right or wrong at least it works!!

Thanks YV1 that's helpful, I'll try filters and switching pumps before taking a Tech with a scan tool for a ride. Dumb question but is fuel pump in cool fuel module as is filter?

Have an 05 340 DA with 8.1's after running about 30 minutes port engine shuts downs, after 15 minutes will restart and run at rpm above 1500 but as soon as I reduce engine to 900 for docking it shuts down. In first 30 minutes all is fine. Smart craft shows a flashing gas pump but no other code
