how long do shutters last ? I mean before they break apart and wind up down in the Y-pipe.
I just finished grinding and shaping the top of the Y-pipe so the shutters can work properly. Now I'm wondering how long I should wait before checking or replacing them
the outside flange seems to ride a little on the support or maybe the boat isn't sitting perfectly center, this is the thru-hull for the waste water, it's 1.5" id . I have to replace the valve cause it won'T close. Does anyone use those overboard ports ? Cause I was thinking about using that one...
Why don't you want to go thru the transom ? Mostly all high speed boats use this method . I don't want to loose anymore floor space to be able to move around in that bilge, if you are running with the transom supply blocked off which is what I wanted to do but mercruiser advised not to because...
I want to add a thru-transom watersupply but as mercury has advised me to keep the one that goes thru the outdrive, because it cools the outdrive. has anyone had any experience with this plumbing, I mean can I just come off the back of the transom exsisting supply and tee in at the thru-transom...
replace return hose with clear hose to see flow, use laser temp gauge to check risers and other points, these are all low cost methods, you can get everything you need at lowes, fwc systems are tricky to trouble shoot, take one thing at a time, good luck, do you have a strainer between your raw...

where you from hawk ? I'm in south jersey, Thanks again, Kevin
shoot me some info on how you...
What is the serial number ? Alot of people are having the same problem that you are. There are alot of ways to identify your engines and you will have to come tune-up time, and don't think that because it is on there now that it is correct, make your own conclusions.
#1. take the valve cover off...
