I am 78 and was born into the Texas gun culture. By "culture", I don't mean persons following a trend because it's cool, but rather people who think no more of putting a gun in their belt than their wallet in their pocket.
Here is a piece of wisdom. Anyone can make a gun work - what is left out...

82 36' SRV has full canvas enclosure, but it's old and hazed. I was about to have the Isenglass replaced when I asked myself, how about something more utilitarian. I live in Texas, cold is not an issue, but bugs are. Has anyone considered replacing the Isenglass with mosquito netting?
True but the O ring seats against a groove in the pumps housing as well as in the fitting itself. Why not do both? Kinda an insurance policy. If it fails what have you lost? Keep us informed.

fix and when I figure out how to get past the generator, I'll deal with it. However, now the...
Subject boat is 36' SRV W/Onan Generator. Can someone suggest the purpose of the white wires shown in the pic of an aft sea strainer . Specifically do they serve to ground the Generator which is in close proximity?
Subject boat is SRV 360 berthed in Fort Worth, Texas. Recently experienced record -2° freeze. Over a foot of water accumulated in the engine room that overwhelmed the pumps. Thorough inspection didn't reveal any through-hull issues. Does freeze and rupture of fresh water holding tank sound right?
I am replacing the solinoids (up and down) on my 12v Good anchor windlass. The people at Good won't tell me what size solinoids are required (irritating). I guessed and opted for 300 amp. Before I install them I would appreciate input on whether the 300 amp solinoids are sufficient for the job...
We are about to find out. I asked them about the proper solenoid and they advised that can sell me both solenoids on an aluminum pan. What follows is my explanation to them. We'll see what they decide.
I understand, but the problem is that the subject solenoids are virtually inaccessible...
