My 94 400EC has the 502s and I do most of my cruising at about 1200 rpm. That gets me between 8-10 mph on my GPS. I seem to have the normal amount of problems for a boat of its age.
I just started replacing all my cockpit vinyl as well. I started with the seat cushion next to the sink and the plywood had a little rot. Unfortunately, this probably won’t be the only one needing new plywood.
