Now that everything else will be tore apart, will replace the cutlass bearings. . .more $. They also suggested going to dripless shaft seals - that's another 2 boat dollars. . . not sure if that is worth the cost. Any suggestions on dripless compared to the current packing boxes?

I'm not aware of anything online to monitor. If they don't start soon, then probably no dredging until this fall. I don't think they want the equipment and pipes on the beach once "tourist season" starts.

We hope they will dredge the channel this year as well - our association gets the sand and that will give us a beach that we currently don't have. We will likely hit at least Ludington this year, maybe further if time allows.

Generally I agree - when we were long distance camping, we would have a reservation some place, but would find places along the route to get there. My experience in the Holland / Grand Haven / South Haven area is that it is difficult to find a slip, but I haven't had the recommended apps.
