LauCo is my last boat's name. (It stand for my kids, Lauren and Connor) and the fact that my wife used to think I was crazy because I loved boating so much.
Still LauCo is our new boats name
Once a week. The spiders are chapping my backsides :smt021
It takes about an hour for our 30DA... Just the decks and the cockpit and the cabin.
When we get out to an anchorage, I get the hullsides and scrub the drives and tabs off... I'd say I do this once a month.
Assuming the boat...
Sunday after a great weekend on the boat (300 Sundancer) I decided the kids had spilled enough capri sun and ground in enough goldfish crackers that the carpet runners warranted a good cleaning. :smt021
So I took off the runners, and while exposed decided to take a look-see into the cabin...
Figures, I'm leaving for business travel tomorrow morning, looks like the spiders will enjoy my boat :smt021
Any troubleshooting ideas? I push the button on the dash either way and it does nothing???
Just thought I'd update this!
We did get the 300 dancer, and we love it! (Although my travel schedule has been awful and I haven't enjoyed it AS MUCH as I would like!) I was also VERY satisfied with McMachen.
We also did get in at the pier, I get to stare at Pete's beautiful boat when...
Good Afternoon,
We are really enjoying the new to us 300 DA. One question, does anybody have a good place to store the cockpit table when not in use? I've been putting it in the aft cabin, but wondering if I am missing something.
Thanks!
I saw one of those over Lake St Clair two years ago for the Blue Angels air show.
One of the most awe inspiring sites imagineable. It's really hard to comprehend how that "wing" just flies!
Now, imagine being the OTHER guys seeing that in not so friendly conditions :smt018
Interesting to see both sides...
On my old 270, I used the shifters fairly exclusively... But the steering was much more loose...
On my new(er) 300, I've been using both, finding the wheel SOOO responsive it has been a cakewalk docking the boat...
If I recall correctly, green means they are on automatic (cycled on and off by float switches) and red means they are on manual (you physically turned them on)
Thanks Whoops!
We would be interested...
I like Goose Bay a lot, but never thought of it for overnighting for some reason...
Good call on Munchies too!
Thanks!
I used to love overnighting in Ford's Cove as a kid, but with water levels down, I haven't been back there in years...
Muscamoot Bay is not bad, back by the culvert.
Any other suggestions for a nice, quiet, protected anchorage?
Thanks!
Good Morning,
Picked up my new to me 300 Sundancer yesterday.
She ran great, and felt really good around 3300 to 3400 rpms...
She has twin 5.7L EFI, with Alpha's and Stainless props.
Does this seem about right for cruising RPMS?
Went in yesterday as well. 3rd boat in. Sea trialed at 10am, she ran flawlessly (except for a dead genny battery, which they quickly replaced)
What a gorgeous day. 65 and sunny, water was pristine glass. Got to the new marina at 2pm. Took the family out at 3pm, nice dinner on the hook...
I just traded in my 88 270 DA with twin 5.7l Mercs...
The motors had 1000 hours on them, and were not missing a beat. My guess is that they were halfway through their useful life. Not buring or losing a drop of oil. These were raw water cooled, freshwater motors.
I also think they...
Just got rid of an 88 270 w/ Twin 260's, air and heat... It was a great boat! I always thought they were lookers. Moved to a bigger, newer Sundancer, but that boat will always have a place in my heart.
In the years that I had her, the only thing that ever broke on me was a Norcold fridge. I...
