Thanks, we were lucky to get it. I had tried buying it five months earlier and it wasn't for sale at that time. This year of the 540 is what got us shopping in the beginning, to have a nice master instead of only the v-berth. As time went by we started looking at (eight 50/52's) and almost...
Yes, 660HP Caterpillars with straight drives. It is unfortunate that the later year 540s had the Zeus drives. I understand that the very last of the 540s with the Zeus were better but with the early to mid years, I heard too many horror stories. Sad but it removes a lot of buyers from those boats.
Old thead, we surveyed a 2008 55 Sundancer 2/16/22 in Fort Lauderdale. It failed but we ended up buying a 2001 540 Sundancer in March of 2022. Same size diminsions but not quite as new of a style, however it was always a freshwater, undercover, 2 owner boat 900 hours and was/is very very clean...
I bought a 540, does that count ? :-)
Finishing up a little engine maintenance I should have done during the winter and then our 380 will be on the market.
Those pictured are not like yours/mine. They “may” still have the spring loaded retainers but not on the sides. There is something top and bottom, two top, two bottom. To me it looks like rubber covers. Covering screws or ?? I don’t know. Pictured area is the bottom wide area of mine.
Anyone know what this motor is for under the steps ? I think there is another one, same motor and elect boxes somewhere else too. Still finding ing things and learning after 2 weeks.
Also, who has redone their salon steps ? Pictures ?
Is there a place to store this table ? I am assuming it’s the one that came with the boat. I thought I saw somewhere recently that there was table storage. My 380 has storage for the cockpit table and the saloon table. I will be getting a teak table and using this one only when there are a lot...
I agree, it should be pretty cool but if it breaks and it's expensive probably not worth repairing. I'll do a little walking for $40k :-) Heck, I'll walk for a lot less than that LOL
Excellent point and thanks for the heads-up. I am aware of those potential issues. Lot's of those little blinky boxes around these boats. I can do without the "one point" control and feel very confident that I can make everything work less the iPad like thingy's :) In fact, I see it as a...
Thanks for posting that. The 17'9" is to the top of the anchor light. If that light will lay down, there looks to be another 2'+ without getting the calipers out to measure.
