i love boating and the lifestyle. It was just the wrong boat for me. I will keep looking again for another boat. This time with a lot more patience and knowledge of what to look for.

UPDATE: I sold the boat today. Too many small issues and headaches. I felt like I was thinking about the boat all day long instead of focusing on other things. I will still stay here and keep learning and looking at the posts here. I will def. But another boat.

yea it leaked. I just didn’t notice prior to purchasing. Apart from just reaching 4K rpm and the occasional stutter it drives fine and accelerates fine. If when I fill the tank, it immediately shows oil, doesn’t that mean that the drive should still have the requieres amount of oil inside ?

Sorry, this I did not understand. I don't think I have any alarms connected to it, if not it should have gone off previously. This has me scratching my head and hoping for the best. I strongly believe it is leaking into the bilge so I really hope it is something simple I can take care of.

So quick question, let’s say the drive oil is leaking from that fitting or the hose that takes the oil from the tank to the drive outside, would I be ok I’m still using the boat, since the actual drive should have oil in it im guessing. Or is it not recommended to drive like this?

what’s weird about the drive oil is that it only started leaking after I put the boat in the water and drove it. In reference to the timing and the advice on it, I am lost. I will have to look some of that up and try my best. I will remove the engine cover and get to the carb to start checking...

about half the fuel in the tank is from when I bought the boat. Don’t know how long it what there for, but I don’t suspect long since supposedly the PO used it often. The other fuel was from about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I have not changed out the filter yet. I am guessing you are talking about the...

I’m going to check the hoses and connections tomorrow for the leak. Hopefully nothing major. yes it’s a carb motor. I’m looking into doing a tune up on the engine. Gathering info to see what parts it consists of in this engine .

Oh I def will. If I decide to keep her I’m changing drive and engine oils. Do whatever else I need to do for the drive and the engine. I do like boating so let’s see. Hopefully after this rough patch, some good times come out of it
