Buying boat - Salt water question

That might just be worth it... especially since im in Chicago, and the boat is in Florida. (Ft. Meyers) Got more info... the marine got it as a trade in, so im sure that they have the owner information. If I pushed them, im sure they would contact the owner. Actually, its a Baja (I know...

Buying boat - Salt water question

Im interested in buying a boat that was used in Florida. Unfortunately, the Marine selling the boat cannot tell me if it was used in Salt Water or not. The boat is an 07, and it only has 6 hours on it. Is there any easy way of telling if it has been in salt water, and if so, what are any...

277 Baja Islander vs SR 250 SLX

Yeah, we dealt with it for the past 4 years... but we finally hit the breaking point this year. We had to move marinas... and we now have an extra distance to go to the beach... and we're just getting beat up. Im tired of only being able to go 5-10 mph in 2 ft waves... Our 220 is great...

277 Baja Islander vs SR 250 SLX

I know that Baja was owned by Brunswick (who also owns Sea-Ray). Basically what the dealer told me is the same that Lazy Daze mentioned above (thank you btw) We really dont do much (if any) watersports. Alot of our use is spent driving about 10 miles through 2 ft waves to get to a beach...

277 Baja Islander vs SR 250 SLX

Ok, I need some of your assistance. I realize that this is a SR forum, but I need an honest unbiased opinion. We're looking at finally upgrading. Currently we have a 220 Select w/ 350 MAG. Unfortunately, weve decided its just too small to boat with on Lake Michigan (we get beat up in...

Looking to upgrade to 250-270... Have some Questions!

Ok, we've had a 220 SEL for the past 4 years... Usually were in 1-3 ft. chop... and were getting slammed and beaten all over. The wife has finally said enough, and wants to upgrade to something that will handle 1-3 fters w/o an issue (and without going < 5 mph) We've been looking at...

Looking for place in Chicago accessible by boat

Dan, As always, thank you. Fultons looks pretty nice... Im curious though, what type of attire are some of these locations? (Being on the boat... its not easy for us to change into 'classier attire'... ) Do you know if anything went into the old "Dicks last Resort"? We might...

Looking for place in Chicago accessible by boat

Ok, so were planning on taking a trip to Chicago, possibly down the river a bit. Last year, we stopped at "Dicks Last Resort" - right by the locks... but since then they have relocated. So here's my question... anyone familiar with any 'interesting/good eating establishment' thats...

    Weather

Am I the only one on the Great Lakes wondering when the Heat is going to arrive? I've heard that this has been the coldest July in over 100 years! Normally, Lake Michigan water (within 5 miles of shore) is normally around 76 degrees at this time... we checked yesterday and its only 67...

    Chicago Marina - Transient slips?

So far so good. The drivers there are great. Im actually surprised as to how meticulous they are with the boats... treat em like their own. My only complaint so far is the hours of service. Until July 1st - their mid-week hours are 8am to 4pm. Which means no boating after work until...

    Chicago Marina - Transient slips?

Dan, Definitely will keep that in mind... actually we were through there 2 weeks ago. I was completely surprised as to how many slips are still available... that was shocking. Actually, the dry rack is only 60% full... there's availability everywhere.... gotta be a bad season for the...

Thanks Dan, I'll keep that in mind just in case. I actually was able to get a reservation lined up at Monroe Harbor.... so hopefully im all set. Now all I have to do is hope that the weather cooperates! Thanks again! (Oh, Dan, PS - Im no longer in Portage... due to the flooding of...

What's the fastest you have ever gone on the water?

GPS speed or speedo speed? I had a highly modified Yamaha GP1200 that hit 72 mph gps... scary fun. 85 on my buddy's twin 502 Baja 55 (on gauge) on my 220 Select! (I still have to GPS it to find out the 'true' speed thou)

    Infinity Basslink Sub

As an update to this... 2 years now, and the subwoofer still performs as it did when I purchased it. No external corrosion - and EXCELLENT bass. And Overton's does sell this subwoofer in their catalog. Again, I dont know if they have a separate version specifically for marine use... or...
