    SC 5000 to VV703 Question

I understand your question about the need to connect the j-box's with the Y cable and the link cable but unfortunately cannot give you a good answer. With regards to your cable gender issue, All of my j-boxes have male pins on all the ports. Are you certain your new J-box has female pins?

I don't have direct experience troubleshooting the spotlight but you can look up the wiring diagrams in the owners manual from SR website. Here: Sea Ray Owners I took a look and I think it's shown here. So either the "spotlight control" (switch assembly), cable, or the spotlight itself...

    SC 5000 to VV703 Question

That’s odd. I didn’t really use the alignment tool anyway. Yeah, your j- box setup is one for each engine. SeaRay built some that way, I think they cheaped out on mine. On the bright side, your setup is superior in that there is some redundancy as the CAN gets power from either engine...

    SC 5000 to VV703 Question

Yes, that would be a screw alignment tool. This will help to drive the mounting screws straight in and keep the bezel aligned.

Im putting a new VHF radio in where the old northstar was installed, what do you all use to close in the hole and install the new radio?

Harmon, I just did this on my 320. The PO had used some home made wooden panels which I replaced with these panels from FP Marine. See link below. They will make a custom cut out for your specific radio if you provide the details. lower left accessory panel

    SC 5000 to VV703 Question

As a follow up here: I installed the VV703 per the discussion in this thread and exactly like the diagram in post #12. I did not retain the SC5000. Everything is working, including my old gauges. There was a little bit of configuration to get the fuel sensor and rudder angle working but the 703...

    SC 5000 to VV703 Question

Updating. Here is my plan. The stuff in blue is new, gray/black is existing. I included the part numbers for the cables I will need to buy that are not included in the kit. I have not bought anything yet. I am replacing some dash panels as well so getting that sorted out with FP Marine.

    SC 5000 to VV703 Question

Boatrboy - YES! This makes perfect sense. I'll do some research and decide what to order. This rigging should allow gauge connection via (k) in your bottom diagram. I found a similar harness (8M0075065) description in the link from ttmott in post #4. I would rather do this than rely on my...

That's what I was thinking because there's no place on the VV to plug that gauge harness into.

I looked for another harness, but could not locate it. My assumption was blue cable with red tape is port engine, the one with green tape starboard engine.

    SC 5000 to VV703 Question

Hello all. I know there are tons of threads here on this subject but I haven't been able to find any post about my question. A little background. I have a 2004 320 Sundancer with 5.7L's and V Drives. Just bought the boat in November. It has the SC 5000 which needs to be replaced. I have the...

Thank You. Looking forward to some warmer weather and boating adventures. By cutting down, I mean the height. I'm thinking they only need to be around 4 or 5 inches tall. I am planning to remove the old fabric and cushion/foam material, then decide on either a) cutting the existing pieces...

Yep, I'm cutting them down to make them smaller in order to make the bed bigger. So far I've removed the bolsters, bought a 3" king size mattress topper, made a template of the berth area (the mattress topper will be bigger than the mattress), cut the mattress using the template, test fit the...

Start on the port side and furthest aft, feel around inside the upper cabinet for the screw heads. There should be two or three screws holding the bolster in. Work your way around. I just removed mine last week. There are metal tabs that connect bolster to cabinet.
