Has anyone tried to use this type of defroster when out cruising with the canvas and galss up? Many nights and days my windows get fogged impairing visibility. Even wiping with a rag does not always help. Many times we need to open up the center glass and the vent and it gets chilly. I was thinking of have a unit like this for those times to keep some warm air flowing. Just not sure if these are really functional. I know 12v applicances don't have a lot spunk.

Hi Jim

I'm thinking same with you, to put a webasto diesel heater getting the fog from windshield and heating cockpit while cruising.

Calculating the cost.

Best regards.

A small, 12v fan works, too. You can get one that has a suction cup base.

Another approach is to have a drop curtain installed and run your reverse cycle heat or even a plug in ceramic heater in the cockpit. We get a lot of cool damp weather when the sun goes down. Keeping the helm warm keeps the windows clear and the people warm and comfortable. We do this all the time.
