1982 SRV 260SXL "wet" weight

I never weighed mine but I believe 5200-5600 lbs would be a good estimate for a boat loaded with fuel and gear, they are heavy boats. The hull near the keel in the engine bilge is about 3/4" of solid fiberglass. If you have a truck stop near you, you could take her and get a weight with trailer. Then launch and weigh the empty trailer and do the math.

Sitting on a three axle trl. I scaled out at 9k fully loaded.

Mine is almost 11k loaded on an aluminum trailer that prob. weighs 1000 lbs.
Tail, your boat needs a diet!! or maybe just a kick ass big block....
As I typed the other post, I was wishing I didn't weigh that much. Scaled it at a Cat scale on the way home when I bought the boat. 15,280 lbs 97 Ram diesel 4 x4 with the boat hooked. Ive scaled the truck twice at 6040 lbs.
Maybe the girl screwed up getting the weight right.
My boat on a diet. :wow: I'm adding 500 lbs of ballast

Girlfriends worried that my boat wont float after the repower and Aux tank. She thinks im going to sink once im out a sea.
I told her I will know while im at the ramp. If I back to where my steering tires touch the water. And I dont see my boat. Then it did not float off the trl. She did not see the humor in that

Thanks for all the help. I did some hunting online as well and have found Sea Ray 260's of various types (Weekender, Sundancer etc.) ranging from 5000 to 7500 lbs dry. I'm going to equate my weight with a 99' Overnighter I found that weighed in at 5500#. I use that as a base and add 1200# for fuel and water and wind up with 6700# wet. (7000# to be safe when hunting for a trailer.

Thanks again,

Steve

Mine was on a dual axle Escort trailer rated for 7900lbs net and I never had any problems with it. A buddy of mine owns her now and is using the same trailer. I doubt that the boat weighs more than 6200-6500 max loaded. There is very little super structure on the SXL, sleek styling, especially for 1982. To be safe, take her to a scale and get a real world weight. Boats can gain alot of weight from water intrusion, excess gear and decades worth of bottom paint.

I'm thinking mine is around 6000 or so. spoggy where you from????

I wish members had pics of there boats in the signature.
I'm curious how low your sitting with them twin 5.7's

Tail, I wish I was savy enough to show you...I does sit a little low in the stern, but the whole boat is low slung looking(low deck, low bow rails.laid back windshield)I'll have to get one of my sons to help me...Sorry i'd like to show it off.it's quite spotless. Rick......

I forgot to ask again SPOGGY where your from? Asking because I just put a new to me bunk trailer under my boat and am going to sell my roller trailer....I'm in northern michigan though....

26SXL, what is your top speed with the twin 260s? must be about 50 mph I would guess. That boat has to be rare in that configuration. I'd hate to be the guy that has to change the plugs on the inboard banks. There can't be much room between those puppies. Post some pics, especially of the engines, I'd love to see them. I'll have to find some pics of my old SXL, she was beautiful when I sold her.

Sorry, I've been gone a couple of days, life and all. For anyone who's interested, I'm just south of Elyria, OH and normally run out of either Lorain or Vermilion. 26SXL, thanks for asking about a trailer, but I found a dual axle heavy duty outside of Lima for a great price. As to what SXL means, I have no idea.
Thanks for everyone's input!

Steve
