Hello all. I have a queston, I recently purchased a Searay, which has a Lowrance installed. There is a depth guage on the console, but it does not appear to be working. I have taken it apart and re assembled, but still is not working. I have the following questions:
1) Can someone tell me where the trunsducer for the depth finder is located.
2) If I can not get this guage working, what suggestions on a depth finder does anyone have.
3) I see Cuda has a portable fishfinder / depth finder at a reasonable price, does anyone in this forum used or purchased one, and if so. how does it perform.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or replys.

Happy Sailing
Pete

The Lowrance doesn't sound original so this may not help. Transducers in 89 were in hull in a block forward of the port engine. For your unit, first off, is it getting power? Second, follow the wiring from the transducer to the gauge. It may be broken or disconnected. Replacing with Lowrance is fine especially if you can use the same transducer. Hard to install an in hull transducer in the water.

Actually on the Weekender the Lowrance was original equipment in 88, the thru hull transducer was surface mounted adjacent to the starboard transmission.
