I have read a ton of threads but am still unsure of the battery requirements for my boat. The factory manual is also unclear to me.
I want to replace the batteries as they are 7 years old. I want to stick with lead/acid wet cells.
It appears Group 31 is the way to go but what is the configuration re:starting batts and house batts and placement on starboard and port?
Also , I have a Intell-power PD2040 charger. Lat week the green light on the right side was flashing at the rate of once/10 seconds. When I checked today it is continuously flashing. What does this mean?

thanks...

Thanks for posting that manual. I actually have the hard copy but unless I'm blind there is no reference whatsoever as to what the flashing green light means re:rate of flash.
There is also no reference made to the solid red light on the left which I am assuming means the unit is powered. Strange...red lights usually are reserved for bad things...

I had same and there is/was a sticker on the front of the unit that tells what the lights mean.

Sorry, this is the best pic I have….silver label to the right of the meter:

so your photo shows charger at 16 amps and no green light

this photo shows negligible amps and rapidly flashing green light...am I correct in interpeting that my batteries are fully charged since there is so little amp output. It seems counterintuitive. You would think the light would flash slow if it was not putting out many amps.

Yes, your batteries are fully charged. The green light on mine was likely slow blink and I caught it between blinks.
