210 select in shop 13.2 hours

Unfortunatly MM is my only choice in the Houston area for Sea Ray,, If we all are seeing these problems w/ MM service, how the hell did MM get voted to "Boating Industy"? Hall of Fame

I can only speak for the Nixa, Mo. MM and they deserve to be in the HOF. Those service guys have always done everything they said they would, when they said they would. They were a big consideration in our decision to stick with Sea Ray instead of going with Crownline or Four Winns.

I feel bad for you guys having all of those problems, I can't imagine how frustrated I would be if I were in your shoes!

I have a 2006 200 select,I've owned it from brand new, and I'm always finding screws on the floor, or nuts on the floor. Most of them appear to come from holding the trim on, I've taken to going over the boat once or twice a season now with a spanner and screwdriver to tighten all the little screws and nuts up.

Boat has now done 120ish hours, and has had the following defects:-

- screws and nuts appears at random on the floor
- vinyl on passenger seat torn at seams , looks to be substandard stitching, drivers seat is fine.
- wakeboard tower mounting bolts need tightening each season (probably normal I guess), fix myself
- Raw water pressure sender in engine failed (replaced under warranty)
- trim sender failed on day 1 (replaced under warranty), been fine since.
- Jubillee clip from exhaust cooling pipe corroded and fell into bilge, not a major problem as its double clipped, so replaced with new clip myself
- 12v power wire into back of stereo pulled out, fixed myself.
- Rear bench seat mounting screws sheared, leaving seat to flap about. fixed under warranty.
- speedo stops working every now and again - seems a common occurance on all boats with a pitot tube kept in the sea.
- carpet snaps in fibreglass floor pulled out, fixed myself with araldite glue.
- Blower motor seized , replaced myself.

I think thats about it, from my experience with other boats, this would be pretty much the norm.

update -

two more jubilee clips failed today, they were both on the same coolant hose, so water started to fill the bilge, no big deal as the boat was in the marina and being serviced at the time.

yeah sorry, must be an english thing, we call them jubilee clips , you call them hose clamps.
I guess hose clamps is more descriptive.

I forgot to mention I do not use MM. I use Sea Ray of Lexington (Flerlage Marine) and they are fantastic. I purchased both of my boats from them and will do it again in the future. They handle my after-market/service items as well as prompt repairs of any/all punch-list type items, even after owning the boat more than 2 years. My boat is always clean when returned to me, as well as the tires pumped and ready to trailer. I could not imagine dealing with a sub-par dealership when purchasing a boat that costs what they do. It would infuriate me. Sea Rays have been claimed, by my dealership, to be the Mercedes of boats compared to any other available line in my area. So, in return, I expect that kind of service after the purchase and beyond.

Aye, same here. Although I have not needed the service yet, my dealer is awesome. They call me back immediately or answer the phone anytime I have called with a q, and make sure I understand the answer. They continually send me postcards and emails thanking me and letting me know they are there if I need them. I have heard nothing but good words about them from others as well.

As well, they had told me that SR is a top of the line boat, and they have treated me as such so far.

Basset Boat of Westbrook.

The only 2 things that were "wrong" with the boat when I picked it up after the sea trial was the tachometer was sketchy and the prop pitch was wrong.

Turns out the pitch was fine (dealer thought a 19 pitch was wrong, but apparently SR said that is the right prop for my boat and engine) and the tachometer was a simple turn of the screwdriver on the back of it to set it to the 5.0 instead of the factory set 4.3.
