I have an '03 280 Dancer. In the lasserette there is a breaker with the "Bilge Heater" printed on the cover. I'm wondering if this is standard on the 280s or is it something that someone added after the fact? The cover looks like the same type as what covers the shore power connector, breaker, etc. In other words it looks stock. Where would a heater typical connect down in the ER? I couldn't find any hits searching about the breaker.

Thanks!

As far as I know there is no 'stock' bilge heater. Our 280 that was originally a southern boat (according to the decal on the lazerette cover, Gunpowder Marina was the original dealer) a heater that was wired to the 110 outlet beside the helm seat. The heater itself was mounted beside the vacuum generator on the starboard side (plenty of room on a single big block engine configuration).

The breaker switch you describe is not a proprietary Sea Ray part. I believe they are made by Marinco, so it could easily have been an after market installation.

Henry, thank you. I look at this thing everytime I disconnect and it makes me wonder where it would be wired. I guess I'll trace it this weekend. The boat (so I've been told) was originally owned by a SeaRay employee in TN and carries the Knoxville dealer's logo.
