280 DA fuel pumps

Where, and how many fuel pumps are in my 280DA????? Are there ones in the tank???

I know this may sound stupid but did you try to trace your fuel lines from your engine to your tank? Do you have MPI on your 4.3’S?

A quick look on mercruiserparts.com's diagrams without knowing more about your engines (serial #'s, MPI, etc) shows an engine mounted pump with a cover on it for the one I looked at briefly. If yours is the same, I'm guessing they are the only pumps on your boat without any in the tanks.

I have the 5.0's and they are mounted on the engine.
Follow the lines from the tank. There is an electronic fuel switch, then the inline fuel filters, and then up to the engine (on the left side), you should see an aluminum cylinder directly above your fuel / water filter. Inside of that is your fuel pump I believe.

Keep in mind that there are slightly different setups, so yours may be different.

To get a better visual, go to an online parts website and look it up. I checked and it shows yours as being a little different than mine...

Yes, I have. They seem to run to the bottom of the motors. Then is hard to see. I hear them under there. I was more concerned if there is one in the tank.
