Believe it or not, I cannot seem to figure out how to get to the bulb on the swivel light in my cabin for replacement. I was afraid I was going to break it so I just figured I would ask. I cannot seem to figure out how to get the lens or housing out of the way. I have put a pic of the light below.

Thanks!

The shade (housing) should just twist off. I had 6 of these and was afraid at first... I replaced all the bulbs with LEDs...

Thanks, so does the whole front come off and seperate where the chrome stripe is? Also, where did you find LED replacement bulbs?

I just replaced these....
grab hold of the "illuminated" part in your pic and hold the back with the other hand.... give it a half twist and pull away from the base...
It's held on by a little lip and I too thought it would break but it won't.
These are direct fit replacements from superbright....

Thanks for the link. Did you get the "cool white" or "warm white"?

Regular replacement bulbs are available at Home Depot or Lowes. I bought several for myself last year.

I got the cool white(all around except for the lower/foot cockpit lights) because they had more= lumens= more light brightness. The ones in the cabin fixtures are a little more dim than the factory standard bulbs- but not enough to worry about- still ok to read by etc....
The fuse-type looking ones are as bright or brighter than the factory bulbs.
They are more bluish and "sterile" looking but they look good to me...
Can't comment on the warm white.... never used them.

And as DAVE said you can get much cheaper standard replacements at homestores.- I did it because of the battery draw.
10W AT 12 V= 0.833 amps standard bulb
.135 Amps listed draw for LEDS.....

Correct - they are blue-white.

The "warm white" will look just like normal incandescent lights - kind of a yellowish white.

I'm not sure if I would like the two colors mixed together in the cabin - IMHO - if you go with the blue white, you may want to change them all out.
