Our 340 has the movable 12V reading lights that are on a switch by the starboard side hanging locker which also controls the two small 12V recessed lights in the ceiling. I'd like to have the front two reading lights to operate independently of the two small recessed lights since the moveable lights have their own switch on the base. This way my wife can read at night by one small light and not have all 4 lights on.

I removed the switch and it appears there are two 'hots' going somewhere - at a minimum I'm assuming up to the small recessed lights. What I can't determine is if the two small reading lights are fed directly from the switch (which I'd prefer) or, are fed off of the recessed lights.

Boiled down, I'm trying to do is get the reading lights their own hot since they are independently switched without having to tear apart the headliner, cabinets, pulling wire, etc. The wiring diagram doesn't give a clear indicator of how it's wired and the wiring tags aren't visible to trace.

Has anyone attempted this? (or am I making no sense?) :smt001

What I did on my former 340 was a simple fix. Pull the switch out, you will see two wires running off of the switched side. One runs to the fixed lights and one runs to the reading lights. Take the wire for the reading lights from the switched side and wire it to the hot side.

Perfect! I was hoping it was going to be that straight forward! Thank you all!
