400DA replacing port fuel sender?

A month ago I filled both tanks and the port fuel guage fell promptly fell to below empty. I checked current at the guage, swapped wiring on the 2 guages and determined that the guage is OK.

Has anyone replaced or repaired the sender on a diesel 400DA or similar boat? SR customer service tells me that the tank and sender were supplied by Florida Marine Tanks but I have not called yet. Apparently until very recently they were float-type senders. I have determined that the inspection port will be right under the cockpit ice maker so this will be a winter project.

Any tips appreciated!

If your senders are electronic and part of a fuel management system disregard this post, otherwise senders are pretty universal, the mechanical ones are adjustable according to the depth of your tank.
I determined both of mine were shot shortly after buying my boat; both gauges would read far less than what was actually in the tanks because the cork floats on the senders were soaked with diesel and had lost their buoyancy.

Replacement is simple; I replaced mine with solid-state senders from Centroid; reasonably priced and very accurate.
