50amp 'formats'

I got a cable that I could plug my 2 30 amp cords into and on the other end is a 50 amp male connector. Took that to my dock to plug into the 50 amp female and the two didn't match. So I'm thinking there must be different types of 50 amp connectors. Anyone know the specifics? What's the 'norm'?

Yep. There was a thread about this a month ago. The electrical experts said that you should call ahead to any marinas you may be visiting to determine the type and their avalability.

yes there is two (2) types 50A cords.
1) 50A 125V
2) 50A 125/230V
only difference is that one of "L" shaped connectors in going "other" way, but prevent you to plug into wrong voltage outlet
