77 srv 240 one battery?

Greetings!
I just purchased this boat and on the first splash she died on me and seems to have an electrical issue. we stopped in thr middle of the lake and she wouldnt start. pulled the engine compartment and the pos terminal was loose but no second battery. the positive terminal wire was extremely hot any suggestions?

The loose connection probably caused the "hot wire". Poor cconnections result in higher resistance and heat and will prevent the battery from providing the high amperage needed for the starter to turn over your engine. Try tightening the connection and see if that will allow it to start. If not, charge your battery and try.

Second that. Trying to start for a while causes a lot of heat also so when you combine the loose conn and trying to start it makes sense. I would definitely add another battery also.
