83 260 da, prop size

Ok, so it's time for a new prop... I inspected the prop for numbers and it's just too old and beat, I can't find anything. I think the size is 16x13. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance-

16X15C for the 260 Merc from 1982 data. Things changed in '83 - not sure if prop size did or not.

Thats from a PDF I got I think from the SR site. If I find it again I'll let you know.

Thats from SR. Not sure if modern opinion & technology has altered the stock recommendation or not. I'm sure owners with experience will chime in.

I have an 85 260 da and have great results with a 15 1/4 x 15, 3 blade aluminum. That was what Sea Ray suggested. What kind of drive? I have an alpha I, SEI replacement.

So I finally got my 16x13 put On...

Absolutely not the correct prop. It cavitated almost instantly. Hopefully will have better luck with 15 1/4 x 15...

Save yourself a lot of time, money, and aggravation, and call a good prop guy. You tell them about your boat, and they suggest a prop for you.
I had great luck with Prop Docs. The props they recommended for my boat worked out even better than I even expected. It feels like a different boat. They had great prices too. You can google them.

It's funny that you suggested this today. I got an excellent lead on a prop shop near me. I'll check them out and post my results. Thanks
