Hello All. It's about time to start on the interior of my newest project and I have a question for another 300 owner.
Is the factory interior headliner and walls supposed to be vinyl or monkey fur? The owner before me started on a remodel but did a really bad job, so I need to remove and start over. Any good close up pics of yours would be deeply appreciated.

They are supposed to be monkey fur. I replaced my headliner with felt, but JoAnn fabrics sells a foam backed felt/headliner material that would have worked a LOT better. That is a tough job, tougher than it looks. You will need to glue it up with 3m spray adhesive. super 88 or something like that if I remember correctly. You could always put up new monkey fur:lol:

The previous owner re-covered with vinyl and it looks awful. Wrinkles, bad seems, etc.
I have previously re-monkey furred (is that a word?) a 28' Bayliner 2750 and it was difficult but not impposible. I use a compressor to spray commercial adhesive.

The next years vintage has a cloth. It's not monkey fur like our old 87, but has a pattern in it. It's much nicer looking and easier to care for than the monkey fur too. I don't have any pictures, but it is a light blue with darker blue dots or tiny squares or something. I can't even remember!! It's a cleaner look.
