Since I can't use the grill at the dock, and the marina will not allow a large grill on the property, I want to use my grill on the back of my truck. I have the rod mount for it and would like to keep it on there and not switch mounts.

Any ideas on what I could use to mount the grill too on the truck?

I was thinking of using a cinder block and getting a cheap plastic rod holder. Set the rod holder in place and fill around it with cement.

How about just getting the tripod stand for the grill. You spin off the rod mount and spin on the tripod? No wrenches needed.

Or if you don't want to spend a fortune(I'm guessing since you're considering a cinder block)

Do you have a Magma or other marine grill now?
If so, it looks like Magma has a "Trailmate" grill now with a stand. This way you can bring it aboard for trips away from your marina

Since you have the rod mount, just take off your fuel cap and stick it in, then get your mother in law to fire it up and run as fast as you can

Damn, why didn't I think of that :smt043:smt043:smt043

This is the tripod I was referring to earlier... obviously depends on the model grill you have...

Yeah, that will work... When looking in West and BoatersWorld this weekend, that wasn't shown or even with the other mounts.

I'll second it. Works Great.

If you would be using the same truck everytime you could mount something like the 'rod-on' holder - it's letter 'H' on this picture. Screw the mount into either the tailgate or someplace convenient.

WOW, look at that swing away hitch mount for your grill. What will we red necks think of next, pop out lazyboy chairs with TV's in the arm rests that POP out of the stern lazerette?
